2004 - Commencement of Joy
Parts 1, 2, and 3

I got an idea for an animated video based on a small clay figure I had sculpted while listening to a cd entitled "Chominciamento di gioia: Virtuoso dance-music from the time of Boccacio's Decamerone" by the Ensemble Unicorn.

The video is in three parts and is based on three poems: "Ashes of Life" by Edna St. Vincent Millay, "The Pleasures of Merely Circulating" by Wallace Stevens, and "If the Lovestar Grows Most Big" by E. E. Cummings.

Parts 1 and 2 are meant to be seen consecutively. Part 3 will exist inside a motorized diorama with the featured figure.
